While the ban on hoardings have been welcomed by citizens and political parties, it has proved to be a great loss for flex printing shops and outdoor advertising agencies. Recently, BBMP has approved a new flex material- a synthetic bio-degradable fabric to be used on hoardings (the ones allowed as per the new bylaws). Though increased cost is still a concern, it is a relief for advertisers who have been awarded long term advertising tenders under PPP model. It is yet to be seen if BBMP loosens it’s noose around the banned hoardings.
