As per the TAM AdEx data for television, there has been an overall growth of 33% and 32% in Jan 2021 and Jan 2022 respectively, compared to Jan 2020. According to industry experts the growth trajectory of ad revenues in February and March looks positive as well.

The Disney Kids Network is launching its new channel ‘Super Hungama’ which is an extension of the Hungama channel. The channel will be launched on 1st March, 2022.

Earlier this month, BARC had given channels in the news genre the option to opt out or opt in of receiving the rolled data for the past 13 weeks. For the BARC ‘blackout’ period, NDTV has opted out of receiving the ratings data. As per NDTV, it has chosen to be among the channels who don’t want to be included in the ratings. 

Meta has now expanded the availability of Facebook Reels for Android and iOS across the globe in over 150 countries. There has also been the introduction of monetisation opportunities which will help content creators to earn money, and use new features and tools which is expected to attract the Gen Z audience. 

As per the Pitch Madison Annual Report 2022, e-commerce has increased in size from Rs 3000 Cr to Rs 6000 Cr in the last 1 year. There has been a significant growth in the share of total AdEx which touched 13% in 2021 compared to 8.5% in 2020. 

The crypto industry in India has grown 641% in the span of July 2020 and June 2021. This huge growth is also reflected in the advertising spends by various platforms which deal with virtual digital assets and services. According to industry experts, the crypto currency market is expected to spend anywhere between 150 to 180 Cr in ad and marketing in 2022. (Source: E4M)

According to BARC weekly data, the following were the top 5 paid TV channels in week 7 (12th February – 18th February 2022) – 

Paid–Sun TV, Star Maa, STAR Plus, Star Utsav, Dhinchaak.
