  1. Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 has witnessed a growth of 8% in viewership (garnered 3.42 billion viewing minutes) in the opening week as compared to the last year- BARC
  1. The news genre topped with a 29% share in overall TV ad volumes, and the movie genre has emerged as the second-highest with a 24% growth in Aug-Dec (5th)- TAM AdEx. 
  1. Group M has released its This Year, Next Year: Global 2020 End-of-Year forecast report to highlight the state of the advertising industry. According to the report: 
  • Digital advertising is estimated to take 66% of the global market share by 2024. 
  • Outdoor advertising is estimated to decline by 31% during 2020. 
  • Television advertising is estimated to decline by 15.1% in 2020. 
  • Print advertising (including newspapers and magazines) is expected to decline by 5% in 2020. 
  1. Zenith released a new global report – Advertising Expenditure Forecasts. According to the report: 
  • The global ad spends will grow by 5.6 % to reach $620 bn in 2021. 
  • The global digital ad spends will witness a rise of 1.4 % in 2020 to account for 52% of the overall ad spend, up from 48% in 2019. 
  1. Fever FM has emerged as the top radio station in terms of listenership share in Mumbai and Delhi for week 41-44. Radio City and Radio Mirchi were the top stations in Bangalore and Kolkata respectively: RAM Ratings.

  1. According to BARC weekly data, the following were the top 5 free and pay-TV channels in week 48 (27th Nov- 4 Dec)- 
  • Pay–   Sun TV, STAR Plus, STAR Maa, SONY SAB, Zee TV. 
  • Free– Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal. Colors Rishtey, Dangal.
